I've been living with it for a week, using it for family trips and it's really got under my skin – join me for a walkaround and driving review of this funky French family… find.

I have a 2012 Berlingo. The best car I have ever had. Drives beautifully and is incredibly spacious. This is what cars should be!

12 years ago when my kids were small I changed jobs (yup in the middle of a recession) handed back my company car and started working away 😁 my wife said, I need a car, so I found a multispace xtr took a very reasonable 3 year lease and had it delivered. She hated it the minute it arrived, but….quickly loved it, as did I we ruined it over 3 years and handed it back. No I will never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever have any more kids, but if I did - deffo have one of these again.

We've got one of these on order. It's the only thing with a big enough boot on the Motability Scheme for a disability trike!

I had one years ago. It was comfortable, safe to drive and very handy for a family with kids, dogs, gears and so on. I didn't care if it wasn't a very good looking car but the citroen quality.

I like it, and to everyone complaining about the range, it has 2 hours range plus 100kw charging so nearly full in about 30 mins. There are plenty of people that is fine for. If It was nearer 20 grand I would be seriously interested. Im hoping because of the low range and MPV and it's a Citroen that the depreciation will be fairly high so maybe a reasonable price in a few years second hand. Definitely not for everyone though.

To me, it look better than the PEUGEOT E-RIFTER.

I have got the vauxhall combo life elite 1.2 petrol automatic. Phew long name I have had the van for three years and it’s been brilliant. I am disabled and I needed something that would carry my buggy and this does with no problems at alluding a electric lift. Being built on a van body the interior is not the best but it drive’s really well I average 35 mpg but that’s around town. My car is a lease car and I am that happy I have extended the lease another two years. The car/van might not be the best looking but if you need to move people/stuff around it does it with no problem at all have a look at them you won’t be disappointed.

Hi Tim, I managed to get a 22 reg petrol Berlingo XTR XL it didn’t come with the exact spec i ordered but I’m very pleased with it and its perfect for our Great Dane dog in the back. I couldn’t be more pleased with it. I would have loved to get an e-Berlingo but the range just isn’t good enough. Thanks for the great review as ever. Love you or work.

Conventional SUVs are lard arsed monstrosities - this looks much nicer. I really want one.

As a family car is 150 miles really an issue? I rarely manage 100 without an extended toilet break when we're all in the car so would expect to recharge naturally provided there's a working and available charger, and I guess that's the issue rather than the vehicle's capacity?

Much prefer MPVs for their practicality. I don't get the 'high floor, low ceiling' coupe-SUV thing.

The electric 7 seater that youve forgotten is the very similar Nissan eNV200 from £31, 075 (£29, 575 after Gov grant) which is also available as a 5 seater.

I think Citroen and Peugeot have made a mistake only offering electric with eight years to go for conventional fuels and I bet that date goes back to 2035, can’t see the infrastructure sorted and the price of electricity and tax will soon screw the scheme just like with CNG and LPG.
Great review as always and a nice vehicle.

Une voiture française? Sacre Bleu! Excellente critique comme toujours!

One thing you are wrong about: throwing dirty stuff in it and not caring. I've found Berlingo owners become rather loving towards their wheeled boxes like they are one of the family.

Or that's just me and how l treat mine.

Great review, Totally speaking my car talk language.

I’d buy this if there was an extra 100 miles of range. 😞

This is basically a car based MPV except in the body style. It is based on the Picasso chassis which is why, unlike the mark one, it drives like a car.

Citroen has rescinded the only electric Berlingo.
