So satisfying. Been into jazz for only 3 years, this is one of the first tunes I heard, and I never get tired of it.

Straightforward uptempo bebop, a great listen, nice composition, very good solos.

LOVE IT! While the tune is nominally in F minor at the top, the melody is actually in F major, accomplished through the use of minor7b5 chords with a natural 9 extension. Never heard the authoritative version before, thanks for posting. Great arranging and playing, too.

Two jazz songs named "Minority" . This one and one by Art Pepper. Different tunes, but both outstanding jazz melodies.

The songwriter (Gigi) knows how the song should be. It's not that Bill Evans' version is bad - it is genius. It's just not the same song. I do prefer this version.

Fantastic! Is this the original version? What a great rendition by a great lineup. Including the great and rarely heard ( way too rarely for me ) master Richard Williams one of the all time greats. As well as great playing by all. The real deal. Thank you for posting

First of all - this was the composer of the tune: This is important since he made it possible for what follows: Compare this to Cannonball's seminal recording. Well it doesn't measure up . So I listen to this refreshed and find it to be incredibly beautiful. And this was the man that composed it!!! Cannonball was only able to take these changes because of Gryce's original composition.

the thing about gigi was that he wasnt really one of the best sax players, but the sold coke and herion to all the musicians which got him a lot of sideman record dats
