VERSE 1
I Woke up around 11:30 this morning and I grabbed my phone
I seen everybody tweeting RIP Cadet my minds blown
I was confused
Why’s he all over the news
Then I seen he died in a car crash same time I was writing for our tune
That was just last night
You’ve always been lovely to me
So it just couldn’t be
Another young king taken from another family that now has to grieve
Always in your car spitting bars
Hitting the pockets, killing the rhyming
Story telling and styling on em
And slyly it inspired me
Through the grind g
Now I’m sitting here writing
Likkle juice and vybzing
Thinking bout all the events that took place when I was just
Thinking bout all my exs that I need to
Give calls or a message tell em we cool
All man I mess with are Real
Family that I need to speak to
Keep it mature between me and you
Life’s so short and it can be through
Won’t hold a grudge on you we good
Live your life cah it can kill you

VERSE 2
It’s mad
Cus I always travel in a cab
And I got a flashback to when I was on M way in the back I had a car crash
One man from the side clipped us on the right
And we was spinning round real fast
Drivers tryna control the wheel but can’t
I closed my eyes thank God
Cus I nearly lost my life
Without a compromise
You never know the time
We’re never shown the signs
Won’t let it get to me
Leaving a Legacy
Make them remember me
Live your life cah it'll kill you

Lady Leshurr. I really appreciate you doing this for Cadet and you’re one of the last of the living generations that care about the big and the little and fight for what is actually right. I’m glad you are using your voice

It's refreshing that I can quite happily play your music, and my children aren't going to hear about xanax, guns and whatever artists are singing about today whilst swearing non-stop. You have talent, and most of all you have class.

Thank you for making this. I felt it in my bones, heart and soul. I've lost so many for the past 8 years. My best friend and her unborn child were killed by a drunk drier in Oct 2011. My world shattered. I couldn't breathe, couldn't eat, couldn't sleep. But just as I started slowly working through it...another close friend was killed by drunk driver that Feb. Was just I was already down and getting kicked again. Nearly lost two other close friends in that crash. But with faith and loved ones, I slowly got up and limped along. Helped others who were grieving because I had been there. Still was a day to day struggle but I was recovering bit by bit. I did outreach with friends, I met the love of my life, I started a non-profit with my mom working with autistic adults like my brother. Fast-forward to Oct 2017 and I get home from working at a haunt at a theme park. Find out a friend died of an overdose. Possibly suicidal. I cried in my car because I didn't want to worry my mom. Picked myself up again. Mourned. Then this year, Christmas Eve, a beloved cousin, a mother and grandmother died in an apartment fire. I finally sought out therapy. I have PTSD and Anxiety but it took my 8 years to go to therapy. I'm engaged now. A week ago my best friend lost her dad. A man I've known practically my whole life. And I am working on being there for her while also not letting this loss crush me again. Sorry for the long post. Just wanted you to know I can relate. And it helps my broken heart mend a bit more when I hear songs like this. Purposeful. Honest. Thank you, Lady. Bless.
