Considering that the followers of jesus didnt believe in pauline christianity, even if Rav Gamaliel said those words, his words show that the original jesus movement did fail. But whether a religion doesnt fail, doesnt make it true, islam is thriving, & both islam & xistianity are warned about in Deuteronomy 13

Not only do they do that but the people Gamaliel mentioned are off on the timeline.

Theudaus didn't have his revolution until I believe 20 years after Jesus and the guy whome he claimed revolted after Theudaus actually revolted some 40 years prior.

Gamliel's prophecy rang true. The Christianity he was talking about was "the sect of the Nazoreans" (Ha'Notzrim - The Watchers). That group doesn't exist today and hasn't for a long, long time.

You're now putting words into Luke's mouth! It says all that you say it says about Gamaliel, but what it DOESN'T SAY about him is that he's FOR Christianity! It merely quotes what he said. It's a very reasonable and believable quote, given his age and experience, and the fact that these people they were angry at were JEWISH believers in Messiah.
So it's a reasonable and reliable historical quote.
