For him to say he has no higher calling than to transport them safely is massive respect.

He's a real one. That's what a pro sounds like. Nicely done, and well said Cap.

I don't fear flying but I do get anxious. I want this pilot every time.

Now, I feel like that would be an appropriate moment for everyone in the plane to applaud

About 7 years ago I met a lovely lady on a flight. I was flying with my husband and she was sitting next to me. I told her I was anxious. I was having a panic attack and she held my hand the whole time and chatted with me. I will never ever forget her .

Reminds me of one of my doctors, calls me at home to check on me and update me on changes to my care plan to help me overcome my disease.

A pilot who takes time to greet and assure their passengers is like a doctor with a great "bedside manner" who wants to put patients at ease and get them well again.

Now _that's_ part of the Gold Standard of perfornance! 👍 ❤

I respect that. I view my work as an occupational therapist with disabled children as a CALLING not as a "job".

Much respect to this captain. My son starts traveling again for work as the season begins on Feb 15th and lasts 32 weekends - til November. He's 19 and all these crashes are really getting to him.
