I'm so glad you found my video useful. In my area, there are a ton of lvl 2 stations, but only 3 super chargers. With having only 25 miles left at the end of the day I'm guessing you are definitely going to want to get a lvl 2 charging station installed at your house. The trickle charger won't be able to get the Leaf to full charge over night. With 25 miles left mine takes about 14-16 hours to charge back up. If you stop anywhere at all it'll be even less.

Your video was by far the most informative and gave us the confidence needed to make the jump. We agreed on terms over the phone, showed up signed our paperwork in about 30 minutes, a few minutes instruction on the car and we drove off. That was my first time seeing it in person and driving for the first time was leaving the lot. Anyway, your work and effort is appreciated! Good luck and safe travels!

From 0% charge on the batteries it takes about the following to charger to 100%:
Trickle Charger: 18-20 Hours
Lvl 2 (240 Volt) Charger: 4-6 Hours
Lvl 3 (480 Volt Super Charger): 80% in 30 min

As far as oil an all electric motor....no oil to change

This was very informative, it's nice to hear an owners opinions who isn't paid to say good things about the product.

I really appreciate you putting the information out there about this car in real time driving. Keep it up man, let's hope Nissan keep on improving on this one like how Toyota did on Prius.

I leased an SV last week - loving it! Putting in a 240V charger, 110V charger is just too slow for my needs. Thank you again for the video and information.

Jeremy, I have been on the sidelines studying all electric vehicles since April of 2012. Since then, I have driven and researched all potential E Vs and have come to the conclusion that the Nissan is the best value. I had planned to use the garage 120 to save money. Your candid video, however, helped me realize that in a time crunch, I can use the dryer's 220 which is 15 feet from the garaged location of my future Leaf. Bless you and wishing you simply the best.

Glad you liked the video! Yeah, I hate seeing "reviews" like that too, that's why I made these videos really, just to give an honest opinion.

Thanks for the comments! Not a cyclist, but I have seen people with bike racks installed. I might hurt your aerodynamics some and take a mile or two off your range but nothing serious. And that just me guessing...it might not affect your range at all.

We got an SV, slate grey with the light interior (really liked seeing yours in the video), and Premium Package, and the LED Headlights and Quick Charge Port Package. Went ahead and ordered the charger from eVgo, but I have an electrician friend that said he would install for free. (We are insisting on and he has agreed to $100, 2 cases of his choice of beer, and dinner on us for him and his wife). Still quite the savings over their install rate. 133.9 m now. Thanks for all your info.

The leaf to me is one of the smoothest vehicles on the road although its not for me to me it needs a little more pep and its not good for the showy weather conditions in buffalo to me its MUCH MUCH cooler than the Prius and is accomplishment of engineering.

Yes very nice video sir, very well shot and a nice wide angle from your camera too (assuming Gopro) I am also considering a Leaf too, we are about to have the new leaf here in the UK so there are some amazing deals about on the old Japanese model car now that may be too good to look over. Please post some more videos if you can, like charging from a quick charger, like the POV style of the video, super nice job on the tints on the windows as well.

Very well done. You answered a lot of the questions I had about the Leaf. Thankyou so much.

Yup I work in Chattanooga as well. The Chargers at Greenlife are lvl2 chargers, the 240volt ones, not the 480Volt quick chargers.

Great video, I've already put the deposit on my new leaf and I'm picking it up tomorrow. With the 2012 model the eco mode isn't on the wheel any more. It's part of the gear shift. I did pick up a 220 charger for about $700 which they blended into the monthly payments, and we were quoted roughly $300 to have it installed by an electrician (non-Nissan). We live in Toronto Canada and the government has decided to set up a bunch of free charging stations around the city by end of next year.

just put a generator in the back (6 kw / 40kg / $200) if you are one a trip close to the maximum range (if there is no charging station), it charges about 20-25 miles in 1 hour.

1. The battery is said to degrade 10% in 10 years if you charge using the "Long Life" setting which only allows up to 80% charge using super chargers.
2. As far as the windows goes, I would assume it wouldn't affect the range much if at all. I haven't noticed any difference.
3. You can get well over 85 miles in a single charge depending on your driving style and where you drive it. I've seen reports of 130 miles in a city environment with speed never exceeding 35 mph.
