WATCH OUT FOR SPAM/FAKE ACCOUNTS. Recently, there have been fake accounts faking as our identity and saying things like "Message me on Whatsapp/Telegram" etc. We never ask you for your personal details, do not give out address etc. and do not fall for these cheap tricks. Just follow our official channels linked with our verified channel badge :-) We do have language channels with subtitles in different languages, these are official, but you just subscribe to them and they won't ask your for your personal details etc. /Thomas

I think this car is actually the only little EV that I would buy . it's attractive and a serious rival to the top Auto Makers., . I actually don't see a rival to this at the moment at this price in its segment ... and that looks this good...Renault did very well with this. Fresh and dynamic. Excellent!

I can add my two cents here. Thomas seemed a bit down and did not seem to like it but don't be discouraged. I drove it almost in pretty much the same specification as here, as well as most of it's rivals. TLDR this is one of the best EVs currently. If you're interested, a bit more details:
- Efficiency. We saw this powertrain in Ariya much more already and it is very efficient. It's even more efficient in the Megane. It will deliver ~370km range mixed driving. It can do ~13kwh city and 20kwh highway (120-130kph). Even with it's pointlessly big Cd, it's quite a bit more efficient than ID.3 and is close to the Model 3.
- Regeneration, as mentioned by Thomas, has modes. Without it, car freewheels amazingly well, feels like it has almost no friction. It does adapt slightly to depending on the speed but mostly the driver controls it with the paddles. I would agree that proper adaptive solution would be best (Tesla is by far the best here) but some cars are harder to predict or have a very weak regeneration setting. In this case, Megane at least let's you choose. The highest setting is pretty strong and stops the car well (but not to a complete halt, unfortunately).
- Drives rather well too. FWD EVs aren't the brilliant usually in general because of the massive torque coming suddenly makes them lose traction (Kia and Hyundai EVs were particularly horrible at that) but Megane is the best one so far. It's calibrated properly and is rather progressive, has enough traction for the amount of power. Not as good as RWD (as ID.3) would be but really good enough that it doesn't bother.
Interesting that Thomas had an issue with the steering, because I feel it's calibration is one of the best as well (not as good as VW and Tesla, but better than everything else).
Suspension is pretty firm but isn't uncomfortable and damn side better than Teslas. Not as good as VW though.
Side note: this is my personal biggest downside of the Megane. The whole driving refinement, calibration of fine details feels is good but not brilliant. For example, you can hear small clunks or squeaks from the suspension or the brakes. Not always, but sometimes, especially driving very slowly and trying to get to a very gentle stop. VW feels much more complete in that regard.
- Interior is amazing. Blows away everything in this price range, at least in this spec. Miles better than ID.3, Born, Teslas and much closer to XC40, Ioniq 5 and generally premium vehicles. Surprisingly, even built quality, stitching, door handles (inside and out), door closing and stuff like that are very good and much better than we are used to seeing from Renault; would probably rival some premium vehicles in this regard. Some harder plastics here and there, but mostly everything is covered in many nice materials, is soft, switches feel substantial, don't feel cheap and have nice clicks. Separate control for climate is super useful and there are FOUR window switches, for every window (groundbreaking I know). Steering wheel buttons aren't really capacitive, they feel like proper buttons and are just put on one plastic plane. Driving position felt okay, seats are comfortable.
- Infotainment with Android is good as well. Not as good as Tesla, but better than anything else. Quick, easy to use. Google Maps are integrated and you can see the map on the driver's screen.
- Practicality is a probably the weak point. Trunk is short, though rather deep, not much space in the back seats. Front row is spacious though and there is enough storage space. But no frunk :(
- Styling is, of course, a matter of taste. I think it looks okay, definitely much better in person, though I don't think it will age very well.

Went for a test drive this week, quick correction to make sir: the buttons on the steering wheel are not at all touch based. I tried to use all of them and touching did nothing - they're 100% buttons. They just don't look like buttons. It's almost like a diagonal version of a D-pad, if you anyone understands what that is :p

Can we all agree this is 100 times better than an id3 ??

Renault did a great job on the styling, I especially like the front end. I think it looks better with smaller wheels - these and the blue paint make it look absolutely wonderful! The interior is also MUCH better than I expected

Thomas, you're nailing EV testing nowadays. I love that. Keep those thorough reviews streaming in. Loves your straight to the point reviews 🥂

As a French, you gave me (for the first time in decades) the envy to try a Renault again. (And I drove R21, R25 and Espace)
I love the steering wheel, the double flat aspect looks very comfy.

Well done by Renault, please Volkswagen, consider Android Automotive and use more tactile buttons

It's actually a rather cute little EV but most importantly, the Android integration is the best out of all proprietary ones

I placed an order here in the UK last week. Due for delivery in December.
This review has put my mind at ease.

Yes I will have the smaller screen. But the rest will be identical. Was good to see the interior trim, the micro fibre and cloth on the dash board.

Looks great.

Excellent video as always.

13:53 Thomas I agree with you completely! It is mind-blowing watching car manufacturers throwing decades of understand of the man-machine-interface down the drain with these pseudo-mirrors and the touch or rather non-tactile controls. Lack of spatial awareness kills people just as high reaction times from watching a smartphone screen instead of keeping an updated view of the surroundings does.

A nice car and I like that even smaller EVs are starting to become available (though still too expensive), but I'm really tired of the whole so-called crossover concept. Why not just build stylish hatchbacks that are as efficient as possible?

I get mine delivered this month, this car convinced me to take the plunge on an EV ! I got the iconic trim in glacier white with gold f1 blade.

Nice! I saw this one or one similar two months ago in the Netherlands with a french plate. It was a test vehicle, equipped with a lot of camera’s and camo wrapped completely. I couldn’t make up the model but nice to see it now fully on Autogefühl!
