Lifetime Tamarack Kayak Trolling Motor

Video showing the Minn Kota 30 mounted to my kayak. This was a fun project my son and I completed from some ideas we saw here on You Tube. We made this short video on a side canal on the Weekie Watchee river. This trolling motor sure made it easy to navigate up river.

Parts included:

Aluminum tubing
Duracell 35 amp hour battery (25 lbs)
Fuse between battery and autorun controller

Note: check local laws - in Florida I had to register the yak due to the trolling motor.. good news was it was super cheap and easy to do at the DMV.

I know it's an old video. I live in brooksville and got my butt kicked many times on that river trying to paddle while towing kids behind me. Looking to mod my kayak with a motor. So this is super helpful. Thanks.

I found the switch online that you use, question I have is how does it hook up to the trolling motor? I see that it has a connector on it so not sure how you rigged it up?

Great vid, ...i have tamarack on order. so hope to do something similar. any idea how long the 35 amp hour will run the motor if i were only to use 1st and 2nd....I fish on ca delta, and no need to go too far to find fish. Although i dont catch many lol....i want to do a pwm also, but I still wont be going fast. tks in advance Ken....
