Movie name: Poseidon (2006)

Poseidon was literally an underrated movie imo. The dramatic music, the suspense during the escape, the sound effects of the ship crying while it's being capsized by the wave, it's literally perfect. Idk why some people hate it.

The original Poseidon movie was shown in 1972. Two remakes followed one in 2005 and the other in 2006, which is the one being shown here. Since the massive success of Titanic, disaster films on ships followed like the Britannic in 2000.

The video mentioned the word "tsunami" on multiple occasions.

I remember stumbling on comments explaining that those huge waves out in the ocean are called "rogue wave", which is different.

If I remember, a tsunami on the other hand is when you have an underwater earthquake which pushes the huge mass of water, which only starts rising as it approach coastal areas, where the ground is not as hollow as out in the ocean (i.e. the shallow ground of the coasts work like a ramp for all that mass of water to move up and into the land).

My dumbass as a kid begged my parents to go see this movie because I thought it was going to be about the God Poseidon. I wasn't mad after the movie because it was a decently good movie, but my dumb self was waiting for Poseidon to pop up out of the water and do stuff xD

The ventilation scene in this movie almost gave a me an anxiety attack the first time I saw it. Not only were they about to drown but there was no way out with the grate covering the hole.

I;m really thankful for channels like this because just from the little dialogue from the movie I heard, I'm glad I didn't actually have to sit through the whole thing

And why would an elevator ever need to combust? And an engine? From practically out from nowhere?

The original “Poseidon Adventure” from the 1960’s is a lot better. Gene Hackman is in it.
