I'm a RN and I have TOS, I let the resident doctors practice these tests on me all the time in the ER, they are always shocked to feel my radial pulse decrease so rapidly.

Shit me up when I first got a positive Adson's with no radial pulse. Was like thought I'd broke something for a second.

The symptom of this test (looking for diminished radial pulse can create a false positive test). Therefore, this test should only be used to search for symptom provocation

Physio asking, isnt the vascular abnormalities retated to subclavicular and pectoral minor muscles? If so how does the Adson test wich puts stress on the scalene decrease the pulse?

my radial pulse disappears even without doing it

I'm using Magee as my source, the procedures, in this video, are correct. By the way, thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) is due to the following: tight scalene, cervical rib compression, surgery, or pancoast tumor. Therefore, you are going to perform some stretching to the patient's scalene.

Thank you..that was a very simple and useful explanation🤍

The test actually controls the A. Subclavia entrappment & not the Brachial Plexus!!

great video guy! question: if this test is positive, for treatment purposes, would you target the middle and posterior scalene? thanks!

How's it called the posterior scalene port if it lies between both the anterior and middle scalene muscles, and not between the middle and posterior scalenes?

Always good content on this channel! To your knowledge is there any tests that give preference to the more common neurogenic component of TOS or because of the anatomy's proximity are all structures within the outlet being tested?
