This list!! I love the dance art form!! I took tap lessons many years ago and the basic steps looked really simple but when combined to do a routine, it’s very technical and intricate. Also, many forms of ballroom dancing is difficult, also Contemporary dance, vogueing, belly dancing, jazz, and pole dancing.

American Tango: Yes, it's one of the more difficult dances to learn and it has a lot of technique that is opposite of what you would do in other ballroom dances. Staying low to ground always, both smooth and sharp movements at the same time, and long strides are what make this dance especially hard.🥺🥺🥺

The way I like to think of tap dancing it's like learning a drum. Different parts of it will give different sounds and how hard you hit it will give a different quality of tap

Some dances are hard because of the technicality, the flexibility, and the strength it takes to perform that style. Others are tricky because while the movements appear more simplistic, if you don't perform the emotion that needs to be portrayed with it, the whole piece looks wrong.
That's why classical ballet has to be the hardest style to perform because it involves the technical, the flexibility, and strength, as well as the emotional performance that comes with it. That's why it takes decades of training and preparation, and the world's best ballerinas are some of the most attuned athletes in the world. All dance has some degree of difficulty, but ballet certainly is the tops. You can't fake your way through a ballet performance, as opposed to other styles that are a little more free-flowing and interpretive.

How did breaking get number 5? I do agree ballet is hard, and I think it has a strong case to be number 1, but breaking at 5 doesn't feel right. It's only in breaking that we're also judged in creativity on a group, and not too mention flare into airflare, into suicide is literally borderline impossible for the average dancer. I guess if we only took the basics moves of breaking, then it's fair to say it's 5, but if you include breaking at the highest level, then I'm more shocked it didn't take number one on this list.

Irish dancer here. I been doing it since I was 2. Its really tough especially going to worlds 🥲 I was lucky enough to qualify 4 times.

I think Highland dancing should be added, you need to get the execution right then the presentation, then your form
