Thx for posting this! I think this drone is best just for still photos and/or orbiting in areas w/no obstacles. It's follow me function is pretty buggy still.

Do you have to have cell service for follow me mode to work ?. Were I ride there no cell service at all. And its wooded areas. I want a follow me drone to get some footage. As well I have never used a drone. Can any one help me please?.

this is exactly the function that i would likt to use and have searched for a week these experience in Youtubes (THXXXX)
and probably I won't be using it happily while doing the sport and VDO shooting at the same time.. since seemingly there are lots of moments to worry about adjusting those setup with the drone... LOL thx anyway.. appreciate it....

This was so scary to watch!!! I'd never try follow me or track me mode on a street that has a 10m wall of trees beside it!

I actually value my Mavic Mini so much that I only use the original DJI Fly App and I use version 1.0.8 so I FCC Hack my Mini and this way get 1km distance and more over Sofia city!

Do you know what speed this can track? I have mavic mini and want to track myself on a electric skateboard of up to 20mph?

Any advise if the follow me mode will work on a cruising fishing boat? And will it follow with 40kmh? And when connection fails, will it go down or stay searching for signal?

Its very frustrating to use. I found follow very stiff when it moved, when I used compas, it turned away from me! Tracking is limited by subject contrast against the background

It looked like the mini actually was following you for a short bit in active track mode. So is it supposed to actually track you or just behave like spot light mode and only track you with the gimbal while staying fixed in the air? If it is the former I wonder if the Mini just doesn't have enough CPU cycles to track and follow at the same time. Maybe that's why DJI didn't offer the feature themselves?

color is important, you have to use a different color of the background to camera easy recognize the movements
