Warm Audio is well known for recreating legendary studio microphones at a reasonable price. No wonder I was really hyped to see that they came out with two guitar pedals, one of which is the Centavo. But is it "the real deal"? Does it bring us close enough to the crazy dynamics and sweet tone of the original Klon Centaurs? Let's find it out. Leave a comment below!

The low-gain/clean amp is my jam. I just love that tone so much, with all the klones. I've had Sugar Drive, Tumnus, and Archer. They are all so freakin good.

This was a day-one order for me, no regerts as they say on the Internet. Great pedal, and I pair it with my Duke of Tone. Nicely done. I use it with my Gibson Les Paul and SG.

Excellent video all the way start to finish...this checked all the boxes for me, very complete.
Based on this video and other research, I purchased this Centavo on Reverb, and I'm waiting for it to arrive.
My Klon Quest started about a year ago; I wanted: versatility ( no 1 trick pony), usable across full gain tone/ range, build quality, stackable with other pedals and clean amp settings, value ( no 7k pedals). A big selling point was the Jeff Beck (RIP, Rock In Peace) mod. I also like the simplicity and vintage look, layout ( not a lot of switches and options).
PS. I also like that your vids do not include a bunch of silly, goofy, content, like many others. Your's are 100% usable content without a clown show, or extra bantering...Thank you!

I got mine the first day they released it..best klone around IMO..great pick man...the warm drive clone of the Zen drive looks fantastic as well..I jumped on a few good releases this year including the Duke of Tone! You'll love that too Kris!

Great video, just got the Centavo and a smile has been permanently implanted on my face. I have Tumnus Deluxe, OCD and Smallbox. I liked the Tumnus and it was first in the chain acting as a Klon, but honestly in my setup into a REVV D20 and 1x12w Celestion Vintage all of the settings on the Centavo sound great. Tumnus sounds great, but with all the tweaks, I get better overall sound out of the Centavo. Did not expect that, kind of got it to have another Tumnus type to stack into each other. Centavo is now always on and first in the chain. Thank you for what you do, have been a Thomann subscriber for years and glad I found your personal channel. And I love this pedal. Smallbox is pretty sweet also for a plexi sound. OCD goes without saying, it has to be the 3rd most popular of all time behind Klon and Tubescreamer. I am not a TS fan.

Nice! I use the Way Huge Conspiracy Theory but this seems like a huge pedal!
At some point i need to drive to the Thomann store in Germany and try all Klon Clones in person.

The Wampler germanium limited edition Tumnus is now the closest to the Klon - it's in fact as identical as is possible, especially when really pushing a good tube amp, it's just perfection.

These were great choices for Warm Drive to create (Zen and Klon). I run a KTR into a Zendrive and it really is my favorite sound in the world. Love to run a fuzz into a Klon - smooths the fuzz out a bit and adds midrange.

Nice video, great playing! One note, which has probably been said already, but that isn't handwired. When you see components on a printed circuit board like that, you know it's not handwired. There are traces (dark lines) on the layers of the PCB that connect the components, not the point-to-point connections that you'd see on a handwired circuit. Compare to gut shots of a handwired amp and you'll see the difference.

If you want a Klon in mini pedal format, I recommend the Decibelics Golden Horse. It’s in the 200€, but it’s handmade by a single guy in Spain and it’s super accurate and great quality.

Really like this Centavo, was on the fence with that or the Nordvang then the Unobtanium came out ....oh well I went Nordvang either one is really really good.

Nice sounds Kris. I liked best the Centavo and the Unobtainium. But all pedals sounded good. It is just a matter of taste at this point.
The price is not that bad considering everything tends not to be cheaper these days.
But the affiliate link seems broken and the pedal is backordered again 🙂
