the way this movie contrasts the two siblings. their love lives, their mindsets, their personalities, their journey. especially with the coloring of the actual film, his part was much more vibrant and saturated to show all that was built up inside him. while hers, it was more airy, same amount of color, just a different saturation. they both have so much potential (shown through color) they just went down two completely different paths..

This movie is such a heartbreaking watch and entails such a agonisingly difficult situation. You don’t know how to feel when you finish it because you just feel sad for everyone. The boys family, the girl and her family, even the boy himself. Just shows sometimes being a good person isn’t so black and white as it seems and one reckless moment can destroy absolutely everything

The scene with Tyler looking at the picture of Alexis in his cell always makes me tear up. He genuinely loved her and didn't mean to kill her. But he made a lot of poor decisions and one in the moment mistake ruined their lives. It's so heartbreaking. I love this movie.
