Haven't tuned in to Ellen in a LONG TIME I think since she dissed the lady who took an extra gift bag. Too tacky.

My cousin told me a couple of years ago she got free tickets to the Ellen DeGeneres show and was pretty excited because she liked her, no more.
She took a friend to the show and both of them are in their sixties.
When they arrived at the studio she assumed fans could sit wherever they wanted but soon found out this to not be the case.
She was instructed by staff all the older not very attractive people had to site in the back rows while the young attractive people got to sit in the bottom rows.
Why ?
Because the show wanted to showcase a young attractive audience even though Ellen is considered by her age to be a senior citizen.
Additionally fans got to meet Ellen's mom after the show and my cousin said she was very kind while Ellen blew off her fans and did not even acknowledge them being there.
Bottom line Ellen is a fraud who always ended her show saying be nice to one another yet did not and does not practice what she preaches.
After that experience my cousin was soured on Ellen and has never watched another episode of her show.

BTW Ellen does not interact with her audience. My nephew who is only 24 loves being in studio audiences at talks shows. He finds it very fun. However he said Ellen was the only celebrity that basically ignores her studio audience during breaks.

She does have a reputation of being rude & entitled. A friend of mine attended one of the tapings and said they select the best looking audience members to sit down front. They were also told not to touch or talk to Ellen as she's coming through the audience. During breaks, she would act like she's talking to the audience, friendly and so forth, but she wasn't saying anything. I guess when the cameras start rolling, they would capture a moment or two of her being nice, except that she wasn't. I really used to like Ellen, but the more I hear, not so much.

For #10, I actually think it is fine that a gift was used as a prize. Perhaps ellen/ ellens writers should have called the gift giver and said that they love it and would love to use it as a prize for a competition.

Ellen like most not all but most celebrities. They think their crap don’t stink and they feel you should feel privileged to be acknowledged by them. She like any celebrity needs to realize. Fame is fleeting. She may be famous now, but in time she will be yesterday’s news. It inevitable.

I believe that part about Charlize Theron. Within her maids at home in the contracts they have to sign, maids are forbidden to make eye contact or say a word to her in person. Tbh.
