Perfect! My neighbor called for help with her Panasonic tv/remote. She hit a couple of the numbers buttons, then the TV would not work. My first guess was batteries, but she had already changed batteries.

Since the large and heavy console holding the TV would have to be moved to unplug TV, I opted to check the buttons first. Found white crud spilled and dried on the "0 and -" buttons. "0" was one of the buttons she pushed, and sure enough, it was now stuck in the down position. A minute or so of cleaning it out with a thin toothpick and it was good to go.

I didn't notice the spill on the buttons until l tried punching each button as you suggested. Thanks so much! Made me look like a hero. 😆
