I got an old Lebanese oud from a neighbour to fix and learn. The nut was just a bit of twigs, and the strings are totally unplayable.

I now have a bone nut that will have to be cut to size, filed down and notched to carry strings. How? The strings are also off the instrument and a new set waits.

At least I now know what strings attach to each peg. I was totally confused

That's a weird pattern for stringing it. I'm used to Western instruments (guitar, mandolin, ukulele, bass, cello) being strung consecutively. I bought an oud last month in Egypt, and was about to string it consecutively. I'm glad I watched this first.

When setting up an Oud with 12 strings instead of 11 strings, does the bridge and nut require modifications or are most Oud already setup with grove for the 12 strings set as LaBella comes in 6 pairs? Will appreciate your help in this as I plan to buy an Oud soon. Thanks!
