Catching up on the Legislature

As the Legislature has passed the halfway mark, business leaders speak about the progress and pace of this year's 60-day session. Significant bills like the crime package and behavioral health legislation are picking up momentum, as well as other more controversial measures like a Paid Family and Medical Leave Act. There are also initiatives to address site readiness and property taxes rolling through the Roundhouse. Schedules to hear bills in committee and on the floors are getting longer, and the end — March 22 — is in sight.
