After 13 years of watching YouTube, I've found the single best thing on the platform.

Ollie, seen so many mappers. So many corporations doing maps. Never found your level of accuracy. As a map nerd. My life would have been missing something if it weren't for you. Thanks.

The way we typically learn history is in snippets of important events: The Ancient Greeks, The Holy Roman Empire, the Punic Wars, 1st and 2nd World War, the founding of the America's, etc. The main issue I've had in fully understanding history is tying all these snippets together in reference to each other. Knowing that when event x was going on, event y was also happening on the other side of the world really allows you to have a deeper understanding of history. This video helped me bridge this gap and I will come back to it multiple times for historical reference when needed. Thanks so much for creating this.

We couldn’t tear our eyes away, so riveting and chock full of detail! Exactly what I was looking for but didn’t expect to actually find. Great job and thanks, Ollie!

Maturity is when you realise that this is the history that remains after thousands of invasions which destroyed many advanced civilisations leaving behind no clue for us to know their existence😢

The amount of work that must've gone into this must be crazy. I cannot even fathom how you could gather all this data and lay it out in this fashion. Honestly one of the best videos on this website.

the fact that we now can map and document all of history into one single 20 minute long video is insane. Entire history of our being in a singular video. Inaccuracies are always something unavoidable, but this is just amazing.

This really puts into perspective how much of history you learn in school and how it's NOTHING compared to what there is no learn about and explore.

Achaemenid, Maurya, Roman and Han were on different levels. The amount of area, economy, military and power they had during ancient times was stupendous.

Even though so much is outdated now, this video is still impressive. Can't wait enough for the next one!
