SSI RECIPIENTS: If you are unable to complete the free file because you dont have a bank account or only have the benefits card and dont have any banking information to put in. Do Not Worry about it, The Treasury is still working on making the deposit into your account automatic. I dont want anyone to stress out over this process. Because the Treasury is still making the direct deposit into your account automatic if you dont feel comfortable using the free tax file than dont. This portal is simply a way to ensure that the IRS has your information if your not required to file are not SSA, SSDI, or RRB and you have and account that they can send the funds to. Important question:

I accidentally check the box in non filers tool on April 17th 2020 that says - Someone can claim you as a dependent than It disqualified me from getting the 1st and either the 2nd stimulus check. No one never claim me as a dependent on their taxes, I don't file taxes and I get SSI. I called the IRS for help than the representative told me I have to file a 1040 2020 form with the Recovery Rebate Credit to get the 1st, 2nd stimulus check but I don't know how to file because I don't file taxes before and i heard that the IRS is not going to any longer relaunch the NON FILERS TOOL on their site anymore. Also my SSI income is only $9, 528.00.

How can I file the 1040 2020 form for a Recovery Rebate Credit if I get SSI and is the IRS going to relaunch the NON FILERS TOOL on February 12th ?

Not sure but get over 13000 a year with VA disability pension is this the right way to go with the simple form . According to the yearly statement info is that I'm not required to file my taxes. Now it keeps getting rejected when I put zero in for my pin number as instructed because I don't have one from last year. Ya know this really sucks! What are people with no email site gonna do? So question here I have the SSA 1099 which is the letter they send out every January . Is that what is needed ? I get SSI due to disability as I'm only 1 .5 working credits away from getting full SSA/ SSDI but fell short because I became disabled . I'm so confused right now .
I honestly don't trust giving my personal information via web portal due to higher rates of cyber hacking . Plus, I have no access to library and a cheap phone that crashes . Seriously confused ! Also I don't have a bank account nor card . I really hope they work this mess out for people in the same boat as myself. Sad truth is anxiety level is at a Max right now watching people I know that's passed away from covit-19 to even think clear enough to deal with online / paper work for filing .

As was told the treasury has gotten together to get checks in the bank for people who have direct deposit, you don't need to do anything

Hi Vin I'm getting different answers to how SSI recipients are going to receive their stimulus. I have Direct Express so I'm confused whether I have to go to the portal or just get it direct deposit to my card.

I'm just payee for someone on SSI... so I just put my info in the non filers portal and it accepted it.

This is not true about SSI. I read on the IRS website today, aside of SS, SSDI RRB not having to file it says, This also includes those who have no income, as well as those whose income comes from entirely from certain benefit programs such as SSI, they will get payments automatically.
IRS will use SSA 1099 to generate payments as a direct deposit as they would receive their benefits.We do not have to file a tax return

IRS PORTAL does not work for SSI recieptents. Hard to navigate the portal. We do not need to file. What's going on. SSI recieptents Does not need to file. We never had to file TAXES. Thought United States TREASURY is working on getting us the stimulus checks. Do a video ASAP. We SSi recipients are starting to give up hope of ever getting any stimulus checks. What's up explain now NOW I'm speaking for alot of SSI recieptents. GIVING up hope IRS portal Does NOT work for SSI recieptents. Hard to navigate. Explain now

Ok i get social supplement income and how can i file when most of us don't have the direct Express card information only the social security administration has thoes information

I filed mine through the portal and it also let's you track your payment.

This is bullshit! I knew I should've waited before I filled. I don't owe and I'm not getting shit back, so now I have to wait for ANOTHER portal to open?!

The only downfall right now is a lot of SSI recipients use Direct Express. they don't let you use a routing and account number at all. So my question is how am I supposed to submit my banking info. That kind of leaves me hangingunless they send me a paper check which I don't want them to do.
