Fun fact I remember learning in Doctor Who confidential that I can never unsee:

When hit, Big Ben is actually mirrored. Because they actually made a small scale model of big Ben, but when they had the "ship" crash into it, they filmed it crashing from the wrong direction. Instead of rebuilding this big Ben model which would take time and money, they just flipped the shot.
