NEW ESP Onyx Rods

The new ESP Onyx rods are available in two popular test curves, 12’ 3.0lb and 12’ 3.25lb, both with 50mm distance ringing. Light, well balanced and responsive the slim high modulus blanks feature a traditional unground finish which gives them a nice ‘old school’ look.

The high quality, lightweight SiC guides are arranged in a long range ringing pattern comprising a 50mm butt and single leg intermediates down to a 16mm tip. The full length shrink rubber handle features an ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing flared casting grip and a gunsmoke DPS reel fitting with anodized butt cap and collars. Subtle decals and a small ESP logo on the line clip whipping complete a nice understated look.

Just bought these bad boys! I compared a couple of shimano’ and a Fox rod vs these ESP, and the ESP were much more evenly balanced, the finish is superb and I’m looking forward to fishing with them tomorrow!!!

As an update been using the 3.25s they seem a bit heavier than stated tc tbh more like a 3.5 to me a 3.5 oz lead feels way too light on it but love em. Great action very good for the dough 👍

Are the eyes on this rod the minama type or the thinker standard size it's not too clear on video or pictures I have seen thanks

I was thinking of getting x3 of these in 3lb because of through action and weight, you say on the video only use upto 21/2oz leads are you sure? bit light same size lead I used on my old school rods that were only 21/5lb, surely a 3lb test should take a dig with a 3oz? what about using bags on these

I recently bought two Sonik Dominator X rods 3lb test curve, and 39.99 each brand new! i bet these ESP ones wont be that cheap?

Drennan dont do bad rods they never have....and with that high end laboratory style scientific testing procedure you cant go
