Both celebratory foods were delicious, but the tacos were definitely a nice change...(for me ;)).

My family is also Christian and we always believed it's not about the food but the family, so we did a potluck to ensure each person would get at least one thing they liked and would also have a chance to try something they may have never tried before.

My husband is Mexican so our kids were happy for the Mexican food at our Easter this year. They actually voted for it! Rice and beans for the win.

I never do traditional. When I host, it's always something different. Those cupcakes look amazing!🙃

Tradition is something that most people don’t enjoy changing, but sometimes the change can be good!
Myself and my family are Christian as well and celebrate Easter, and we always have a big family meal the day of!! Usually doesn’t matter what we eat…😂😂
LOVE those cupcakes so much!!😋

You can start your own tradition of not having to follow tradition. Faith, family and food= fun memories. May God bless you. You are very talented. I just came across one of your videos and started watching the rest. I used to make cakes, mainly for family. My niece wants to learn so I might start again. Your videos are inspiring and fun to watch. Keep up the great work!

In Portugal it's traditional to eat cod, but you can have it in more than 100ways 😂 I love it you can always be creative and traditional at the same time

The traditional meals for holidays vary so much by location and culture. Jesus and others recorded in the bible at the foods they did because thats what they ate based on their location and culture. We dont have to make the food spiritual or legalistic. We've been training our extended family to let go of menu expectations to allow for menus that can help put me on the right side of the biblical Martha/Mary equation, as I host many of these gatherings. It's been life changing. If it brings joy and togetherness to do a holiday meal a certain way, do that, whether that's recreating meals from the Bible, your region's traditions, your family's favorite recipes, takeout, potluck, or something else. Honestly I didn’t know people would do roasts/ham for Easter

We had no plans for Easter, as the kids are grown anf got their own things going on
My son wasn't supposed to have his son for Easter as it was the ex's weekend.
He messaged me Thursday, she has texted him asking him to come get his son. Turned out for the whole weekend. I told my son, don't worry, we got this. I did an Egg Cake, a small dinner, ran to the store and got stuff for a basket, stuffed some eggs, hid them that morning, so when he showed up "last Minute" it looked like the "Easter Bunny knew he was coming even if Gammy didn't know"!
He is 4yo so it is still fun!

I'm not religious AT ALL. However, I do believe whomever is hosting a get together, religious or otherwise should get to choose the theme and the food to be served. You don't like it, don't attend.

My family are Christians as well. It's not about the food, Easter Bunny or eggs. It's about our Lord Jesus Christ.

This sounds so ridiculous. As the saying goes these days: tradition is just peer pressure from dead people. Live and let live!

So crazy how I grew up traditionally having ham on Easter

What flavor cupcakes did you bake to go with the filling? I've never used the dulce de Leche filling. Is it similar to caramel sauce?

We had a taco bar too. The truth is I prefer gravy

I don't do very well with change, especially with religious stuff 🙂.
When I host any sort of religious event I try to stick as much as traditional as possible. It reminds me of good things I grew up with and time and experience I shared with my elders. 🙂
But when I go to somebody else's place and they do stuff different ways I respect their decision too.
So for me it's kind of you do you ans I do me 🙂
