Having served four years, in the USN, I would say that it is up to the individual... It was one of the best decisions of my life...

The Navy is what you make of it, there’s gonna be good days and really shitty days. And if you go in with a negative attitude you’re going to be miserable the entire time. But if you go in open minded with the goal of bettering yourself you will come out the other side better than where you started regardless if you do 4 years or 20.

“Only if you’re homeless!” Lmao. I’m living in my car right now. But still make good money 😅😅😅😅😂

I had the best times and the worst in the Navy. I also met my family there. We had our 20 yr reunion in ATL.

I almost enlisted as an MM, but ran off with hippies instead

Everything worked out in the end I suppose

First 2 years of your career is rough but also the best… it’s really weird in a way 😂 it’ll either make you or break you but once you get used to it 20 years goes by hella quick

Shit im about to be homeless, never been on a ship before, let’s send it.
Update: I indeed did not send it. Got into a motorcycle accident, blew out both my knees, fractured my back and suffered a major concussion. On the bright side, I’m going to a trade school for welding and hopefully with the skills I learn there I can put them to use in the military.

to anyone reading this, choose your job wisely. Study for the asvab if you need to. Also come in with a positive attitude because if you’re miserable and complain you’ll be just that.. miserable.

At the end of it all most of these young people that complain about it are the same civilians that will complain about working out on the civilian world. If you had a taste of what civ life is like then you appreciate the navy more 😂
