This is my favorite radio of my collection. My Dad gave me his radio a while back before his passing.

Just picked up one of these on eBay from desert thrift in Mesa AZ. Loving listening to mlb in the evenings on it. First radio I’ve had that could pick up the LA espn station inside my house. Years ago bought a tivoli and was so disappointed in the am reception. Glad I found Todderbert!

Thank you for the MW Daytime scan with the GE Superadio. I discovered many many years ago my Nebraska kin folk owned the same model. I was so envious!! To this day they enjoy the GE Superadio's capabilities. So many classic radios I covet. All the same, I enjoy your scans and reviews.

Oh, I used to have one of those radios. Found it at the ASVARO Ham Radio operators electronics flea market at Foothill college in the mid-90s (I really miss them -I hope they'll return). It worked great for several years, then developed a problem with the power supply where it would power off and come back on in 15 minutes, only to do the same thing again when the component got warm. I got rid of it. I kind of wish I repaired it.
A friend gave me a vintage GE radio 7-4135 with a wooden cabinet that seems very similar in quality.

This radio definitely has lived up to it’s name as a super radio because I had one & wore the string off the tuning wheel several times.

I have two these babies. I bought one for myself, then a few years later I drove by a yard sale and saw one on sale for $5. I grabbed that one. There was no way I could pass it up for that price.

50 on eBay? I wish! They want a mint for those bad boys. That radio has TRF tuning on both AM and FM and it is plenty sensitive on FM as well. Separation on AM is phenomenal. Each station is miles apart from each other. I love mine. I have the first release with no external antenna screws, the A, and the next one with the screws like you have, the B.

I have a superadio 2 and 2 superadio 3's.

I like them a lot.

I modified one of the superadio 3's and put a 5 watt solar panel on the back of it.

Being such a large radio, it allowed me to mount a relatively large solar panel on the back of the radio.

It provides more power than the radio needs so it even works when it is somewhat overcast.

It beats the sox off of any solar radio you can buy off of Amazon.

Got this & the Superadio MkII & MkIII - FM performance for me is the biggest standout

I have the Superadio 2, great performer and sound quality. The only issue after all these years (bought it new in the late 80s) is the volume control: It won’t completely silence the audio when positioned at the lowest setting.

Wow, you must be in a mad mad reception zone to get 120+ mile reception mid day.

One I always wished I'd had, maybe I will someday.

. . . . He loves Super Radio on the AM ban(d).

I have two of the GE radios but they are the newer version from 10 or so years ago. Works nice but some speaker problem on one of them.

How is the Superadio II superior to the III? Thanks. I am debating getting a II

My Superadio III has a terrible buzz everywhere in the house. Is it possible there is something really shot in the radio? The other radio I had didn't have that type of buzz. Much better tuner.

Do you have any GE Superadios for sale?
