I was Raised by Jim Yellowbird late 60s and early 70s at pigeon lake. i have stayed close with the family. Is there any history i can find regarding this part of the Reservation ? As i get older i want to know more of my roots.

Thank-you so much Brian for this virtual walk! I really enjoyed seeing the Old Sundance Grounds, such a visual with the flags still coming out of the ground... beautiful. At the Samson Hay Meadow stop; I was reminded of the stories my Grandfather would tell about family harvest, Horses, Feasts, Hay and stooks...lol.. Beautiful Land of abundance. Your Museum is Wonderful starting with Chief Maskipeton "Peace maker" 1830-1869, Chief Bobtail 1877-1879 who signed the adhesion to treaty 6 in 1877, Then to the first woman Chief Florence Buffalo 19996-1999...Love the Cree place names, I need to look into that some more; the map from 1888 really puts it into perspective. I am the current Mayor for the Village of Clive and the Ward one Vice Chair for Wolf Creek School division. In Clive I have the privilege of living and working on Treaty 6 Territory, also home of Metis Nation Region 3. I really appreciate the opportunity Brian to be invited on your virtual walk to gain knowledge and perspective.
