If you had the option to go back in time to meet any famous person, when would you go? The correct answer: you don’t. There are way too many negatives to time travel, especially anyone who isn’t a rich white man, and Amber is here to point out precisely what’s wrong with it.

I remember the first time someone asked me that question. I thought “50s… No… 40s…no.” And so on. Just got worse and worse.

Watched a video about how far you could go back in time and still understand English. Never thought about race. It is amazing what being white allows you to not think about.

I wouldn’t go back further than 1980. I would spend that day eating all the snacks I miss.

I could pass for white and I still wouldn’t want to go back unless I got to bring an army with me, free all the slaves, and found the country of zamunda.

Just got you and your sister's book on audible.
" you'll never believe what happened to lacy, crazy stories about racism " I love that you and your sister did the reading together. ❤

I am white, I love history, but even I wouldn't travel back in time within the last 5000 years or so. There are people there who believe all kinds of BS even without the Internet.

Commented on another video and folks seem to think I’m being sarcastic when I say, “Amber is beautiful”… I’m serious, Amber is beautiful! Love her youthful persona.

I asked on Facebook awhile back to pinpoint the year we reached equality/ safety that my friends would feel comfortable for me to travel back in time to.
No one wanted me to travel back in time.
One person (who in their argument said they had biracial grandkids & insisted I was making too big a deal about racism simply by posing this question) also had no year/era to offer. But how dare I ask?!

I'm assuming if the question is "if you HAD to" rather than "if you COULD", the answer would be Lincoln, because at least that only means you've got to deal with a few years of potentially being literally enslaved, but... yeah. This is a pretty touchy question for a lot of women, too. Like, even if I have the privilege of being white, fighting the patriarchy and the classism...

So true. Grace, hope, blessings, ingenuity, and resourcefulness have kept us alive and thriving, so why go back when there is so much more to do now and in the future.
