Rush Afterimage on HQ Vinyl with Lyrics in Description

Track 2 from their tenth album “Grace Under Pressure” released in 1984 copyright Anthem Records. Like their previous three albums, it was recorded at Le Studio near Morin Heights in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec. After the amicable departure of Terry Brown as co-producer, the band began the search for another guiding light to assist with production and help them realize the sound they were striving for. After a couple of setbacks thanks to an unreliable candidate and scheduling conflicts with others, they secured Peter Henderson, who had worked on Supertramp’s “Breakfast in America” album and received a Grammy nomination for it. The band continued to evolve their sound through the use of synthesizers but I thought they found a better balance between guitars and synths on this one compared to “Signals.” It received above average reviews and reached No. 4 in Canada, No. 5 in the U.K. and No. 10 on the Billboard chart. It’s been certified Silver in the U.K. and Platinum in Canada and the U.S. This was their eighth album cover designed by Hugh Syme, who would be involved with all their subsequent releases. Renowned Armenian-Canadian portrait photographer Yousuf Karsh was commissioned for the back cover photo. Recorded from the original vinyl. Written by Neil Peart, Geddy Lee & Alex Lifeson and produced by Rush & Peter Henderson. RIP Neil Peart. Featuring:
Geddy Lee – Lead vocals, bass & synthesizers
Alex Lifeson– Lead & rhythm guitars & synthesizers
Neil Peart – Drums & acoustic & electronic percussion
Special Guests:
Paul Northfield – PPG Wave synthesizer programming
Jim Burgess – PPG Wave synthesizer programming
Suddenly you were gone
From all the lives you left your mark upon
I remember
How we talked and drank until the misty dawn
I hear the voices
We ran by the water on a wet summer lawn
I see the footprints, I remember
I feel the way you would
I feel the way you would
I feel, I feel the way you would
Tried to believe but you know it’s no good
This is something that just can’t be understood
I remember
The shouts of joy skiing fast through the woods
I hear the echoes
I learned your love for life, I feel the way that you would
I feel your presence, I remember
I feel the way you would
I feel the way you would
I feel, I feel the way you would
This just can’t be understood
I tried to believe but you know it’s no good
This is something that just can’t be understood
I remember
I feel the way you would
I feel the way you would
I feel, I feel the way you would
This just can’t be understood, no-oh
