I was rewatching your original Aberration series, and it's crazy how different everything is now between the snapping on the end of the cliff platforms to "cryopods" to help with the crazy terrain. helps pass the time between the current episodes =)

My character got deleted 4 days ago. I saw the server was about to shut down so I went to base and exited the game for 10 minutes. Logged back on and my character and tribe and dinos and structures were all wiped. Fresh start, thanks nitrado

Wow, your cave run was Baryonix central! Amazing shots, too. The respawn on the way out with the artifact is an interesting part of ASA. Never knew a ravager could go upside down on a zipline.

I ran this on a Sarco and it was an alpha Karkinos party. Not a single Baryonix. Trying to get out with climbing picks deleted my character. Fortunately I had backups. So I just had to run this cave three times over.

On the plus side I got to confirm that nameless can summon Reaper Kings while swimming. And that Subterranean Reaper Kings cannot swim. They will drown.

Poor Dimetridons. The Gigantoraptor really replaced them for A/C free hatching. They had some really nitch uses in modded in ASE. You could hatch the Dino Storage 'eggs' for things like Meks in Genesis missions with distant Dimetridons heavily leveled into melee.

Cave was surprisingly less populated when compared to how I remember it from ASE. I remember everytime there was something wild at the bottom of entrance, so I ended up bulding platform base just above the entrance with spare gear (we play PvE with friends, so all were welcome to use it). And then getting from the huge drop in the lake further was hell through many many creatures.

Short version: dimetrodons are niche and need a buff but are still good.

Long version: Dimetrodons provide significantly more insulation than air conditioners, penguins, or otters. I’ll admit they need a buff and do not need such ridiculous torpor, but they are super useful. They have almost no food drain and respectable damage for a small creature, especially since you pump full melee into them. If you want smaller satellite bases, dimetrodons let you build in inhospitable environments without having to micromanage gasoline stocks across the map. They also freely enable more primitive play styles.

Shadow cave has another way that takes you basically to the enterance, it’s up the cliff in the artifact room.
