CanChrisSolve?: Hooky Cube

Today we take a look at another puzzle by CoreCubeMods; this time, the Hooky Cube! This AMAZING 3x3 modification has metal hooks on certain pieces which, when touching another hook, bandage the cube! This devilishly tricky cube is definitely one to watch!

Seems to me sometimes clockwise and anticlockwise moves will give you different results - one may be bandaged but the other not? So if it bandages one way, try the other?

To clarify, I don't think the ends of the hooks barely kissing counts as bandaging. Probably just some slight wiggle room in the tolerances combined with not perfectly straight hooks. And yes, these are QiYi Sails.

Can you do R3 instead of R' if needed?

Sometimes instead of doing a r you might be able to do 3r' etc. Just cause I never saw you try it. (Though it could just be that you tried it in your head)

I imagine you can use white as bottom cross and make sure to face the orange and green hook downward so you can move your top freely.

Orange face should probably be rotated 180 degrees to reset the puzzle.

Sometimes these algorithms look like they could still be done, but by doing the reverse of a single move... e.g. instead of doing U' do U3. Then the two hooks stopping it, won't hit. You're making the algorithm longer of course, but I bet you in some cases it'd work.

I've found with bandaged cubes, i'm often better off doing intuition-based solving and simpler/beginner algos since many are just one or two moves repeated which seems to work a lot of time with bandaged sections
