about a hundred thousand years ago, I used to install TV antennas and wiring for multi use TV systems (MATV) in apartments. Where were these tools back then!!!!

@Sparky Channel. Thanks Bill for another thorough review. Details like battery type and location are useful. I have an old Ideal Link Master LAN cable tester that uses a really special 6V Lithium battery. Appreciate Klein using AAA size batteries.

How do you test coax with no fitting on one end?

Is it possible to use this tester without the speaker on the other end. Detect if the cable has a signal coming in to begin with?

Great review. Why did they make so you have to use that adaptor rather than just having a female plug built in?

any reason why a person couldn’t use a couple adapters and check a coaxial cable with BNC connectors on it?

That cable toner doesn't test if its " good ". It is used to track one end of the line to the other end. BTW, if you connect the RF out from a Motorola box to your signal meter, it does the same. But the RF out to meter meter meter can find signal even through a splitter.
