Russian folk dancers Stantisa performing in Delhi

Russian folk musical culture came alive in a musical concert by Cossack Dance ensembles ‘Stantisa’, at Kamani auditorium in Delhi.
The Indian Council of Cultural relations (ICCR) and Haryana Cultural affairs in collaboration with the Russian Embassy in India had organised the event. As many as 18 folk singers and dancers presented folk songs and dances in one-hour musical extravaganza, which reflected the cultural ethos of Russia, Kuban and Krasnodar regions.
Speaking in chaste Hindi,Tanya Kapylova from Russian Embassy introduced the traditions of the Cossaks, known for their love for nature, patriotic zeal, mastery over martial arts, fighting spirit with which they guard their frontiers.
Twelve dancers of Cossak’s ‘Stanitsa’ ensemble with their brilliantly vibrant, thrilling and magical spell danced straight to the hearts of the audience. Be it the Sable dance with peaks, Whips dance, the Kazachok - a traditional celebratory dance, the colourful wedding dance ‘Molodychka’ the dancers embellished with eloquent electrifying dance movements adhering to precise rhythms, nimble footwork and synchronising steps.
