Acer Swift 5 (2019) Review | Updated Ultraportable

Reviewing Acer's new Swift 5 ultraportable laptop, updated for the end of 2019/start of 2020, after two weeks of testing. Here's what I think of the performance (including benchmarking and gaming tests), battery life, design and usability of the fresh Swift 5 notebook, which now packs an Intel Core 10th Gen chipset. Other upgrades include WiFi 6 support and the GeForce MX250 GPU.

If you're after a slim and light portable laptop, this Acer machine is among the best for under £1000. I've reviewed previous Swift incarnations and this new model, launched in time for 2020, is a great choice for its combination of respectable performance, long battery life and incredibly thin ultraportable finish. You can find it on the cheap right now (well, £899 at least) here in the UK, from the likes of Curry's PC World.

The keyboard seems to have improved compared with last year's version, while the Acer Swift 5 still boasts a crisp Full HD screen with touch support and natural colour reproduction. Performance is strong enough for gaming and simple video editing, as long as you don't push it too hard.

Just got this Swift 5 as it is so light I didn't think it was real at first. Great notebook to carry around in a backpack - it is very light and the computer runs on one of the latest Intel chips.

Have used the Swift 5 for almost 4 years-bought back in July 2018 (for £729-and that was over a £100 off!) and has worked perfectly! Good enough for photo and video editing ( COREi5, 8GB RAM), sound quality, screen quality excellent and no operational issues

No fan noise ever-sooo quiet I have to check it is working!!) Never had any issues with reliability or performance¬ Very impressive and, not forgetting how light is-a mere 970g, magnesium alloy chassis-light but incredibly strong!) The only minor criticism is a small-ish hard drive (but additional storage sorted with usb drives¬very cheap now anyway!)

Great Channel! I read and watch your review. Finally got this laptop. One big complaint of this laptop is I need to repeatedly check my bag. Always feels like I left it somewhere since its so light. 🤣This comes from someone who previously used a Desktop replacement.

After watching this review，i also got one, but mine has 2 usb ports on the right side . On the eft side there is only earphone jack. Also mine does not have HDMI sticker on the right corner of the screen. Also mine has golden hinch between the screen and the keyboard. But on the box it says, it is also 2019 series. Why?
