The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has dominated the news cycles over the last few months. It has caused untold devastation in Europe, unheard of since the days of World War II. While countries around the world hesitate to intervene lest they begin World War III, they have not been shy about issuing harsh sanctions against Russia and its oligarchs all over the world. That includes one area that is hurting some Russian billionaires in a very painful and personal way.

Just like billionaires in every other part of the world, these Russian oligarchs love to buy the finest yachts ever constructed by man. These beautiful luxury liners have been the envy of marinas from one end of the globe to another. Now though, they are cautionary tales. Governments have been showing their support for Ukraine by seizing these enormous yachts left and right. Many of the finest yachts ever built have now been pulled from their owners due to sanctions that have cost the country hundreds of billions.

Of course, not every oligarch is taking this without a fight. Many have chosen to simply hide their yachts away. They have elected to use the highly illegal strategy of turning off their ship’s transponders to hide their locations. This way they can place them in private marinas or just send them home with little fear of seizure.

Then there’s the ship that’s rumored, but not confirmed, to be owned by Putin himself. While the owner of the enormous vessel is a mystery, its location is not. It is currently under heavy guard in an Italian marina with frightening armed personnel practically begging for someone to just try and take it.

So what exactly is going on with these mysterious, disappearing Russian yachts? Only one way to find out!

Brilliant investigative journalism, TheRichest! Well done. The vessels departed but is stationary to allow the new crew to 'read russian subtitles' and practice standard procedures is right on. Again.

I bet CIA knows where these yachts are. I am sure they were all bugged the day they were purchased. It is SO EASY to hide a small tracking device in those mega yachts.
