I lost my father at seven. My heart truly goes out to this family, always hard loosing a father. And having a similar figure come into the household. And a lot changes. All the things they’ll miss, graduations, walking me down the aisle, being there for me in my darkest times, teaching me to be the person that he wanted me to be. It’s not fair. Sometimes I think to myself “what did I ever do to have this happen to me? Why did he leave me? Why wasn’t I good enough?” But it all leads down to complete nothingness. Nothing will ever compare to losing a loved one. Especially a parental figure. And yes I get it if it hurts you to lose a grandparent or cousin or loved one, and I understand that. But imagine living without a father- or mother figure. And having a complete stranger come into your home and sub in for the missing parent. So please don’t hate on this family- nor the new dad, . He’s trying his best. He just doesn’t know how to yet. It takes a while to warm up to a kid. Sometimes even more than 5 years. But every man or woman that comes into a household should know they will not replace the old parent. But just simply be there and carry on with the children. Because the parent in heaven sent down someone to sub for them to carry on their work.
