TEACH ENGLISH ONLINE (No Degree Required) | CAMBLY VS. PALFISH

If you're looking to teach English online without a degree, look no further! You can teach ESL online with PalFish and/or Cambly. In this video, I talk about Cambly vs. PalFish, we talk about the pros & cons of Cambly and the pros & cons of Palfish. I compare the two online teaching platforms so that if you're looking to work from home and make a side income from home, you can choose which online teaching platform is best (for you).

We even talk about teaching English online for non-native speakers and teaching English online in South Africa (I see you!!!)

Thank you for posting this video Raychel! Just wanted to clarify - on Cambly, tutors DO need to be a native English speaker! Cambly doesn't require much (no bachlor's degree, teaching certificate or experience needed) but we do require tutors to be native English speakers with a strong internet connection! :)

I think both platforms should watch your review, so they can better their platform..because your review is real and with constructive critique....no matter how good our work is, it is always important to seek out feedback.

Don't need TEFL for Cambly, not sure about Cambly kids but for general cambly they'll take anyone with native english and a heartbeat. once you make a good impression in your intro vid. I was accepted in one day!

I have pink hair and didn’t even notice your pink hair since I was only listening to the video. So that last question at the end really threw me off guard 🤣 like how did this person know my hair colour?
But I was actually thinking about letting the pink wash out before I apply. So this is great to know!

This video is very helpful! My goal is to be a English teacher for foreign students, right now I’m saving up for my certification. I think I’ll apply to these programs/ job once I get my certificate!

This is really good to know! I just got my Bachelor's degree and I'm working on getting my TESOL but wanted to dip my toes in the water before going on the "bigger" sites to gain some experience

Hello,

Thanks for sharing your pros and cons for both Cambly and Palfish. I'm trying to learn as much info as I can about Cambly because I'm considering if I want to do it or not. This may seem like an odd question...but when it comes to the referral links tutors have, are their real names shown in the link? I ask because I'm concerned about maintaining my privacy. I know you can go by a different name on the Cambly platform....but I wasn't sure if someone's real name shows in a tutor's referral link (or the link that's in their their Cambly profile....not sure if it's the same thing...).

My second question is what are the best times to tutor on Cambly? If you could please answer these two questions, I would greatly appreciate your time. Thanks in advance and hope to hear from you soon!

Super informative video, Raychel! Do you have a recommended TEFL certificate? I’ve been wanting to apply to teach English online for a while now and am just now finally getting around to doing it.

It really took 4 months to get hired on Cambly? How long does it take to get hired on Palfish?

I was declined on Palfish because my certificate was not accepted. I have a TESOL certificate I took in 2002, there is absolutely no ID #, and then I took a most recent 40 hour TEFL certificate, and they declined saying I need 120 hour. I also noticed on the Palfish App, it said to get things right the first time because you only get one chance. I'm also from Canada (AB), so I'm western time zone. If I've been declined with Palfish, I'm assuming I can't even teach as a Freetalk tutor... Any info would be appreciated. I signed up under you bcuz you were another Canadian....

Hi Rachel. I'm British currently staying in South Africa. Can I apply to Palfish from South Africa being a Brit with a very British Accent?
