I know little about plants, but would like to plant a wild flower meadow in our garden. The aim being to encourage insects, particularly pollinators, and as much wild life as possible. I am concerned that many wild flower mix contain poisonous plants that might kill my cat or dog. It would be useful to know which plants are safe for domestic animals. Which plants will not spread out of control and how to plant to maintain useful flowers and seeds throughout the year.
At the moment my biggest problem is weeds, particularly stinging nettle, Ivy and bramble which have taken over since I became ill following cancer surgery.
