I got my BFA in sculpture and ceramics and I love your idea. We were NEVER taught you could do this with slip! You just taught me something new 😊 This is so sculptural. It would look amazing hand painted with underglaze (this way you can use different colors) and then sealed with a clear glaze. Can't wait to see the final product!

i would dry this very slowly under plastic so the slip doesn’t crack off

This is beautiful but be careful when slip dries against wet clay it tends to separate or crumble because of the higher water content causing a difference in drying shrinkage
