@DAVIDDAMIENR That's a good question... however its very rare that you would go up by just a semitone... its far more pleasing to the ear to go up by a whole tone...

personally I use the 5th of first key (which becomes 4th in the key above) then 5th in the 2nd key for the full transition. So key of G to key of A = G, C, D, E then A.. sounds very major/cheesy sometimes if the timing is too slow...

i like the 2nd part of your vid with the 1-5-1-5... that's something new I can work with. :)

@Topdoginuk yea you can do that too, much shorter. but no it wasn't a mistake i do use the C. I find most progressions in G end with a C, so from C, D and E will be one count each at the end of a bar, much like passing notes in theory. I don't bother dragging each chord out for a bar... don't know if it makes sense.... but yea, if the progession didn't end on the C, the GDEA is what i use. :)

@jtwt55 Interesting. Have you wrote it incorrect on that C? I think you meant G(1st tonic), D(5th), E(5th in the 2nd key) then A. ?
I agree with you comment on the 1-5-15.... Sounds great.

wait isnt it, say you choose the V or the I of the next key and move up. Say C-AM-F-G then AbDOM7, right? it has to be a dominant?

Poorly explained above...I think what you mean to say is....go to 5th of current chord, then down a 4th (or up a 5th---which is same), the destination chord is then the new I chord....so, for e.g. if we're in G (I) then to C (IV), then to D (V)...now go up a 4th...which is the same fret but on next lower (thicker) string, this new note, in this case A is now our new I...D becomes the new IV, and E would be our new V

Thks for this video, but i ve got a "problem", if i take an Aminor Scale, i m just doing like maybe : IV-I, IV-V-I, after this, with your tip if i want to change i use the Em chord and Then move on to the Bminor chord which isn't in the Am scale i m ok with that, it sounds pretty good i guess but :
When i switch the Em for a GM ( VII ) it's even better, can someone explain that to me :/.
An other thing can i use this thing to change from a Aminor to a B harmonic minor ( i don't know how to say it in english :P ) ?

Because the would be only a semitone, to change key, it must be one tone, so from G, it should be A.

Wouldn't Ab be the next key above G?
