Suzuki Jimny JB74 2021 – Accessories and Options Buying New

In this video I explain the accesories and options that I got when buying my new Suzuki Jimny including a comparison for the reversing camera and parking sensors.

Thanks for an informative video. You have the wind and rain deflectors and the diff lock protectors right. You don't know it, but you really want a cover for your spare wheel since the UV rays of the sun will play havoc on that exposed rubber of the tire. The lowest points underneath the Jimny are the radial cups and they easily get bent and can hardly be bent back in shape. Thus you should investigate radial cup protectors as well as a set of rock sliders as your next upgrades. If you drive through a deep puddle you risk getting water into your differentials which operates through a vacuum suction effect. A differential breather kit will save you a lot of hassles and possible expenses further on. That concludes what I would call critical upgrades for every Jimny. The next step will be to get a 50mm lift kit that will improve your suspension and driving both off road and on normal roads. You are now committed to your stock tires though when you replace them in future seriously look at either General Grabbers or BF Goodridge All Terrain tires in the 215/75r15 size that will significantly improve your handling both on and off-road. A throttle controller with modes ranging from performance, towing and economy improves both the performance and the fuel economy of the Jimny since the stock throttle control system is fairly laggy and slow to respond when accelerating — this is an upgrade auto dealers may frown upon resulting in people temporarily removing the controller before taking the Jimny for a service. These are what I term as the vital upgrades since you have now converted the Jimny from a mall-crawler to an off-roader or overlander with a serious attitude that is equipped to go on an adventure.

In South Africa (I promise not to mention the rugby!) the insurers that market their services through tele-sales don't understand the Jimny though if ever you go offroad you absolutely have to switch your insurance to a broker that can provide proper 4x4 insurance with the necessary safeguards if you should encounter mishaps while far from a tarred road. Plus a broker understands that every 4x4 is all about upgrades and they will ensure everything. Just ordered mine a week ago. 6 months lead time due to current Delta outbreak. But holy shit, I was quoted $500 for parking sensors and $200 for the reversing camera. I’m in Tauranga. Though, the salesman tells me that the boot storage box is not included with the car. Asked around and I’m being told otherwise.

Kia ora! I am also in NZ and I just got my kinetic yellow Jimny. Wanted to ask about warranty and all maybe you have an idea I wanted to install a tough dog 40mm lift suspension kit to improve drivability but will it void it?
