I wanted this series to last, one of the greatest shows I've ever watched, a piece of my childhood was Steven universe and I only got it back after I was finally able to finish it, and this song reminded me of his adventures with the gems, growing and changing as time passes with each interaction becoming Steven step stone to what he currently is to this day, Thank you for the wonderful experience you've given many, Steven and the gems will always have a place with me, and I'm sure with everyone else

Dude this movie hits 100x times harder after watching the future specially when you see Steven suffering in this movie to return the “Happily ever after”desperately and how he’s tired of fixing everything and with the last line ”happily ever after never ends “ and that tear maaan it’s a good sign that this joyful never last forever and start the trauma effects on Steven 1000/10

Bro this song hits hard, it's like a combination of "Happily ever after" and "Who we are" (and a bit of " i can make a change".)

And the "I'll be ready every day" part hits the hardest, that part basically carried the whole song. Nobody can *change* my mind about that.

it's sad how everyone still sings "happily ever after here we are" while his version switched to "I can make a change", showing he's still stuck on hero mode and abandons his own happiness for his loved ones sake. Spinel's arc teached him that there's still danger out there and that he still has to protect everyone's future and I guess that's what truly caused his trauma to awaken in such a violent way in SUF.
Also notice how the last lines Steven sings hinted how he couldn't perceive a happy future without his friends cause they are all he's known his entire life. So when they started to make their own lives not only was he left with no one to protect but also with no "happily ever after".
