Sebastian Stan, Jeremy Strong on new movie, 'The Apprentice'

Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong star in "The Apprentice," a film about Donald Trump's early years and his mentor Roy Cohn. After a controversial Cannes premiere and threats of legal action from the Trump campaign, the movie is set for release just weeks before the election.

Just saw the movie yesterday with the whole family. Jeremy Strong left me, literally, speechless. It was an insane performance. I named him first bc I thought no one can beat Al PAcino's Roy Cohn from the masterpiece Angels In America. I think he just did. But the same then goes to Sebastian Stan, and to the writer and director, who's approach to depict this period of 'the monster in making' with such a subtlety a sensitivity, that you almost feel sorry for Trump in the beginning, made the film very appealing and thought provoking. I'd never guess you can create such a good movie about such a notorious madman, who, for a long time now, became the caricature of himself. Congratulations!

I saw The Apprentice. At the end Roy Cohn seemed to be thinking two things: he saw himself in djt and was repulsed by it; he was terrified by what he had created in djt.

Great movie. Oscar worthy. I don’t see any lies in the movie. Any New Yorker knows his history of bankruptcies, lawsuits for denying the black people application with a C to weed them out, Roy Cohn rules to DJT Deny Deny Deny and never admit DEFEAT no matter what. Sounds very familiar as well.

As a born and raised New Yorker/ boomer, I have been very familiar with the events and the times this movie portrays. 
Through the decades, whenever I have been asked why I despise the Trumps, the DOJ's indictment of Fred Trump's blatant racial discrimination and Roy Cohn's introduction to young Donald through Fred has always been my starting point. 
It has always surprised me how few Americans [particularly under the age of 50] had ever heard of Cohn.
Because to know and understand what makes Donny tick one has to know how immoral and savagely cruel his daddy was and how simply evil Cohn was. 
Together, they formed the man who will, if re-elected, destroy the Constitutional Republic we were lucky enough to inherit.
I just wish that this movie had been made and released 10 years ago.
