Hi! It’s been a while. I am really sorry that the upload has been delayed nowadays. It went so differently from what I expected. Thank you for waiting for my videos. Anyway, I settled in my new house well. I believe that I can focus on the music. I prepared Rachmaninoff’s Italian Polka. When this channel was in the initial stage, lots of subscribers requested it. It is known that Neapolitan music inspired the composition piece when Rachmaninoff traveled to Italy. Originally, this piece was composed for 2 pianos. To play this piece here, I had to try to find an arrangement for solo piano. I felt that lots of musicians love this piece. You can find various arrangements on YouTube. You could enjoy them. I used the arrangement by V. Gryaznov. This arrangement is one of the great arrangements. When you try to practice, you can feel that this piece is technically difficult. But, you can enjoy it. Until now, the coronavirus is serious. Please keep safe and healthy! Thank you!

It's called the Italian Polka because after playing this piece your fingers are turned into spaghetti

This is the one piece that Rachmaninoff wrote that isn't dark or depressing.

How many perfect performances do you want?

Kassia: Yes

"Hey Liszt! Can I copy your homework real quick?"
"Yeah yeah, sure. Just don't make it too obvious. Don't want the teacher to find out."
Rachmaninoff: 1:31

I don’t think people appreciate just how difficult this arrangement is. This is a huge accomplishment, Kassia!! Wonderful job!!

- Okay Rach, so your piece is named _Italian Polka_, is that it ?
- Yes.
- Why is it called italian. It sounds russian.
- Do you have a prblem with that ?!
- N- no... Don't worry, I'm sorry.
- Прекрасно.

Amazing! Gryaznov’s piano arrangement of this piece is one of my favourite piano pieces of all time. It’s insanely difficult from a technical perspective yet so enjoyable in certain segments. And it’s great to see another interpretation from a great pianist like yourself.

I am so struck by the fact that there are people that can play this piece. The amount of skill and technique is mindblowing!

Kassia is back, blazing with a perfect rendition of a technically difficult arrangement of one of my favourite pieces from one of my favourite composers. Not only that, it was played with such feeling, elegance and weightlessness, which ultimately gave an amazing interpretation. Bravo as always, Kassia!

Well done, I appreciate anyone who can share Rachmaninov to the world. One of the greatest humans to ever live.

This cadence at 0:32 is the beautifulest I've heard in such small and elegant piece. Rachmaninoff wasn't the average man.

I work as a chef in an Italian restaurant, and as I listen to this I wish to became a pianist there, and play this. There are 2 problems, they probably don’t need a pianist, and I couldn’t even dream of learning this piece...

the only mistake i caught was at 1:00 that's supposed to be a g natural instead of a g flat, but tbf the natural symbol is hidden behind the arpeggiation. great recording!
