Even though she has toxic tendencies and behaviour traits, there is a side to her which is extremely relatable and true. Infact her toxic reactions towards murad stems from her own family and the society and the way she was/is treated. In a scene where she confronts her parents expressing how she wants to put on makeup and meet her friends and have a social life without lying to them, and her mother hits her for being honest. This is what the majority of girls in India actually go through. This also justifies her insecurity towards murad, she's afraid of losing someone who is a breath of fresh air almost an escape from her cruel mundane reality.

This Safeena is not Toxic on the whole, I feel it is her locality & Brought up. For her it is fine to Abusive and Physical for what she finds right. As far as Alia bhatt's performance she gave life to the Character.

But in Kabir Singh Preeti is promoting Kabir Toxic behavior and never telling him to stop. Kabir Slaps preeti.
So learn the difference.
