I don't know what it is you're laughing about because it looks like a darn clever idea.

It also looks like that, with some planning ahead of time, you could sneak some wire leads and even small components like resistors and diodes into the holes under the board since it's header elevated.

And if you're not the OEM for the board, use the 8 pin SOIC section, don't waste the larger one ;)

so the header pins are connected to the smd? Its a little confusing with the little gaps between the pads and the headers-I wasnt sure if those were little spaces to add resistors etc? what Im asking basically is once you have the smd mounted and soldered theres no other soldering required correct ?

$6 per 3 adapters is a ripoff. I just ordered 10 for $1.07 at Alliexpress. They are avail on ebay too. That's a 10 cents per each, not $2 !
