Peak Autumn Hike to Georgia Marble Mine

In this video, I hike to the abandoned marble mine in peak autumn at James H. (Sloppy) Floyd State Park, GA near Summerville, Georgia. Of every hike I've ever done, this one has the absolute best autumn fall foliage. Particularly right before and after the mine.

The season change at this time of year could be hard since the sun goes down earlier which is kind of sad. However, try to make the most out of it by enjoying the breathtaking autumn nature in the small window. From what I see, Georgia's peak autumn is roughly October 25- November 7ish. Give or take. In some areas of Georgia, it extends up to Nov 12 maybe.

James H. Floyd State Park is a 561-acre (2.27 km²) Georgia State Park located near Summerville at the base of Taylor Ridge (Georgia). The park is named after Democrat James H. "Sloppy" Floyd who served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1953 until 1974 and was from the area. Surrounded by rural countryside and the Chattahoochee National Forest, the park offers many activities, including camping, hiking and fishing. In addition, the park contains two lakes that total 51 acres (0.21 km²) and a children’s playground. The Pinhoti Trail is accessible through the park.
