My senior year in high school the gov't/economics teacher gave us all a questionnaire, and when I got it back it basically said I was a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat. When I took it home and showed it to my father, he chuckled, and went over it with me... and clued me in to point of the questionnaire: to make me think I was a Democrat. People are naturally caring, naturally want justice, don't want to fight/ are peaceful, want equality, etc. He then schooled me on the problem with the questionnaire, that it wasn't based on reality... every question was *designed* to point to one answer and one answer only, which was an idealistic answer. After going over the questionnaire again, talking about gray areas, the other side of the argument, etc, it became apparent to me my father was entirely correct... reality and ideals often clash, and reality is unbeaten.

At Family level you are distributing your OWN resources. At Government level 'THEY' are distributing YOUR resources! It's always easy to spend other people's money!

I've joked with my kids several times that they lived under a Communist Dictatorship in our home. Truth is, I don't steal from then to redistribute as I see fit, nor do I rule with an iron fist and ignore their opinion. Christlike love is "charity", which is far more accurate. I freely give to them and lead them out of love and concern for their welfare, not a primary concern for my own power.

I'm a libertarian. Distribution of wealth might work in a village sized community where you personally know everyone. You know who is in need, who is doing there best even if they don't get the same results or so on.
Problems start rising immediately with this kind of system when the community grows to the size where it needs to be governed. When you aren't giving the fruit of your work of your free willn, but someone takes it as taxes, the system is doomed.

That actually moved some thoughts around in my mind. Thats true within family.

I've always worked hard for my brother for a long time. Helped him out with money, with advice, tips, supporting him. I now helped him land an interview at my old job, because i know hes miserable where he works right now.

My old job has entry level IT support, it's very chill & it's in a very nice office with great colleagues. I know he'll have a good time there, i sure did.

I've always wanted him to have what I have i guess, to achieve the same & to be happy first and foremost.

I was raised by a man, born in 1921, who had a father, but was functionally an orphan. He bounced between different family members during the Great Depression, until his 70+ y/o grandmother took him in. He was a B-29 Lead Crew, Aircraft Commander during WWII. He was a strong conservative Republican. I grew up interested in politics & from my earliest memories have been a conservative Republican.

If you want to see a DRASTIC improvement in local communities, limit tax dollars to counties.

Poor counties will realize how deeply corrupt their government is.

Rich counties will realize how deeply corrupt their government is.

And both will be close enough to reach out and touch the problem.

Once your taxes leave your county, accountability evaporates.

I started out my life very left Leaning very Liberal. in my belief I thought as a young person and my teens and early 20s I knew how to fix everything better than anyone I had come before. I had children and realized that I couldn't be so selfish and not worried about just myself. I had something to protect and how to get the wildness out of me and start to be a protector and a provider. The older I get, the more conservative.I get in my beliefs because I know I cannot live forever and will not look forever. God is my provision.
And I need to help other people instead of only worrying about myself. We have a great system in america that has been set up from our past. I have been to other countries and talk to many people from around the world.
And they would love to be a citizen America. United, we stand divided, we fall.

I thought I was leftwing because of Rogan and weed. Then I started listening to the likes of Shapiro and Owens and found myself agreeing more with the conservative worldview rather than the left. And God is definitely real and He's definitely on the right side.

It’s easier to function as a team when you know your team. When the group gets too big there’s often people who are liabilities, lazy and people who don’t honor or respect the team and the need for it to function well and in a mutually beneficial way. I love my family and we are a team we have to remember mutual respect, common moral goals and most importantly God has to be at the center.
