I feel like all of us use shadow and highlight scarcely, we shouldn't fear the huge difference in all the tones, midtones and shadows, they give so much meaning to the piece!

Unrelated but after seeing your videos I gained a much better understanding of how to go about shadows and colours in traditional art too. A friend of mine asked me to help her with a colour pencil portrait of her dad. She’d basically wound up with a 2D picture. I’m not even that used to coloured pencil, and you managed to help me help her. So thank you, it made her day ❤
