Wow...might be where Fuji XPro got the styling inspiration from!

I’ve purchased X-Pan II and both lenses new when it was introduced. As you described, just fantastic. Sold it later and regrated it to this day.

Rectilinear panoramic camera could be fun. I only used Horizon that has a curvy plane and moving lens. It was quite different too and quite a bit cheaper :)

Xpan - build like tank! Thanks a lot for video. It may be sort of nostalgic but I think chemical based photography still makes sense in our modern world. Especially when you do development and real B&W printing by hand. Shoot and scan - yea, it works but nothing can replace that feeling of making your own unique B&W print.
PS I love your B&W style of videos for this kind of stories. Well done!

I LOVE these kind of videos. Makes me want to break out my Nikon 2000 and shoot some film!

Thanks for that review. Back in film days I've read much about this camera in photomagazines after presentation and saw pictures taken from this special format camera. It was my dream camera, because I love panorama photos. But it is still a dream because of the price, as you said. Thanks again Matti.

I remember when I was using film when you first wound it on you could normally waste two frames to ensure it was advanced enough and still get 36. If you were really carefull and did not waste any initially you could get 37 or 38. Now if this camera advanced enough to cover the panoramic mode when you first loaded it you would loose a lot, which I suppose it has to to ensure your first shot is a good one.
No wonder it looses a few shots. Just a guess on my part though on why it looses some shots. hope that makes sense

I had an original Xpan and added the 90mm Fuji branded lens. It was fun before digital panoramic workflows, but the transparencies I shot are a pain to scan and stitch. Hated that center gradient filter to compensate for the light falloff.

But do you need a special enlarger for it or is it all shop done?

Lovely camera indeed. As you say, shame about the price. How many seconds does a 36 roll of film give you?

I think you should have different channels for film and digital.
