whatever the cost to operate the dehydrator, it is minimal compared to the peace of mind I get from knowing I am providing food storage to feed my husband and myself without taking up a lot of space. This allows me to pressure and water bath can more food. Thank you for all your information. I am really learning a LOT

My electric cost kw/hour cost is similar to yours...I live in Fort Worth. The cost is more than I thought it would be but my machine is lower wattage but I probably run the same food items in mine for a longer time. My budget is very tight so I will have to slow down and pick and choose a bit to see how my electric costs will run this month. This is the first month I’ve used it. Thanks Darcy!🙏 The cost of running a dehydrator is not something I thought I had to consider. 🤔

Thanks Darcy! I’m in SoCal SCE, starts at Tier 1 @ 22 cents per kWh, then Tier 2 @ 25 cents, then Tier 3 @ 35 cents. I usually creep into Tier 2 and just got my dehydrator end of October. In November I used 541 kWh and was into Tier 2. They don’t give clear boundaries. My dehydrator is 100W Gardenmaster so at 25 cents an hour, that’s $6/day. Not cheap. Maybe time to go solar.🤓

Thank you!!! I can do the math now! Mine seems to be really expensive. And my company charges a “delivery fee” that is almost as much as the kilowatt hour charges each month.

I don’t run mine everyday but is not that expensive. That is more than I pay for my entire month of electricity. It really depends, like you said, on the area and I’m only one person with one round machine
